  • What is a Check Valve?

A check valve is used to ensure the flow of media in one direction effectively blocking (or checking) the media if it attempts to flow in the other direction (back pressure).

  • How does a Check Valve work?

A check valve works in a number of different ways depending upon its design. All share one common trait and that is some sort of device (usually a disc coming down onto a seat) that will block the line if pressure occurs in the other direction.

  • How long will my Check Valve last?

This really depends upon the type of check valve selected and the media/environment it is in. A check valve that has a very high frequency will not have the same life span of one that is used sparingly. Also the media will have a big determination on the life span as well. For instance if it is corrosive then the seat/valve will be degrading even if it is not actually checking the media in use.

  • How do I install a Check Valve?

All check valves are unidirectional meaning that they will need to be installed correctly with the direction of flow. They will usually have an arrow cast onto the side of the check valve body indicating the direction of flow. They have many different connections, for instance threaded or flanged, so the installation will need to account for this.

  • What are typical uses of a Check Valve?

Check valves are widely used across all industries, basically anywhere back pressure may be present and not wanted a check valve will be installed. They are quite often used in conjunction with other valves as well.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all valves leave our warehouse tested (full material and testing certificates to API598 are available) and inspected so there are rarely any issues.
